BEAST WARS TRANSQUITO

This figure is from 1997. He is a Predacon. He appeared in the IDW Beast Wars comic. He did not appear in the Beast Wars cartoon. This is a shame as a giant Mosquito would have looked good in the cartoon.

 FUNCTION; Air assault and recon

SPEC;
There are few that can match Transquito's uncanny ability to track and discover hidden Maximal outposts. Converting to combat mode, he can hold off several Maximals at once with huge, poison tipped pincers. Any unfortunate robot surviving a strike from these pinchers is immediately afflicted with an irritating rash and sent into a delirious rage. His powerful wings hurtle him to blazing speeds and create an annoying high pitched screech known to drive Maximals out of their minds. His manner is highly obnoxious and dangerous, a point well illustrated by a frequent and destructive habit of firing his missile launcher incessantly when upset. Transquito is hated by all who know him.

He is a big figure for a bug Predacon. His mosquito mode can be difficult to stand sometimes as his legs can slip on some surfaces and the leg hinges cannot support the body.

He has a lever on his back that when slid back and forward his wings flap. They have good details.

In beast mode he looks really accurate compared to a real mosquito. He is impressive.

In robot mode his insect legs hang off his arms which is
unfortunate.

He has the standard Beast wars bug transformation with the bug head folding down onto his chest. His arms being formed by the bugs body and the legs being formed from the bugs abdomen.

He fires missiles in robot mode. The missile fires from his mouth just like Beast wars Skyshadow.

His face looks like one of the aliens from Star trek.

He has a lot of great moulded detail on him. He has compound bug eyes. Scaled detail on the panel which the legs attach to.

His combat mode uses a kind of mutant face or at least the sections on which the pincers are attached have eyes on them. The pincers can be moved upwards maybe he picks maximals up and swings them round then impales them on his proboscis then sucks all the energon out of them.

He has very big pincers in combat mode. I tend to fold them inwards a bit because otherwise they are just too big and out of proportion.

He is overall a good interesting figure. If you are a beast wars fan and you like bug transformers then he is definatly one to get.

He is a surprisingly small figure. He has a nice car mode which is die cast with rubber wheels. His rocker launcher fires the missiles but the trigger is sensitive and can fire randomly when touched. He has a simple transformation but take care that everything in car mode is lined up. His gun fits in his hand quite loosely so beware. On the windscreen he has moulded windscreen wipers which is a nice touch.
He is a good figure and is one of the originals from the ark to collect. A must to have if you can find him in good condition.
