This figure is from 1997. He is a Predacon. he never appeared in the Beast wars cartoon But he did appear in the IDW beast wars comic. He witnessed the birth of the Predacon Snapper. He got his face smashed by Wolfang and both he and Retracks were attacked in the jungle by Grimlock. Apart from that he was just there in the background standing around as an extra.

TECH SPEC: The maniacal Manterror may seem awkward in appearance but he's a skilled fighter with devastating quickness in both robot and insect battle modes. Having the power of flight and equipped with razor sharp raptor claws. he activates internal stealth silencers to strike from the sky like a sizzling bolt of proton lightening. In robot mode he prefers to launch his devastating Ion discs which don't stop spinning until they've sliced through a targeted enemy's external armour.

He has a very Ninja look to his robot mode. I don't know why he is grinning though!
His arms can be hard to pose in both modes because they are so long and the bull joints can't take the weight. His claws are over sized to take the Ion discs.
I like the way his bug legs fold away into his chest.
He has some decent articulation in bug mode. His mouth can open but not very far so pointless really.
He is a nice figure.
The discs that fire from his claws are nicely detailed to look like blades. They are not spring loaded but pressure and they can go quite a way.
The colour scheme is good but if you don't like this there is a Japanese version which has Blue translucent plastic instead of purple.
Not for everyone but I like him.
